I just happened upon these.  Although MS is a subject that is NOT up my alley, I thought maybe someone might find these useful.

Kirsten,

I read the info on the links -- one was for a clinical trial in Louisville, Kentucky.  The only thing with this trial and others like it in the U.S. is that they are going to use chemo to totally destroy your immune system before giving you stem cells.  There is a mortality factor attached to this.  It's like throwing out the baby with the bath water.  A hospital is the last place to be with no immune system.  This is something we do not approve.  In fact, it's the main reason I went to China.

The other was a trial in the UK.  Even though it didn't look like they were going to suppress you immune system, it doesn't look like it ever got going.

Thanks for posting.

As far as the study in Kentucky, I'm not seeing where in it you read anything about chemotherapy.  I caught "mixed chimerism" which isn't chemo..., I also read "conditioning"- which I  IS chemotherapy?  However, it  mentions a "new approach to conditioning which leaves the patients immune system intact".
